Salsa's Territory
Bauhaus 100 Performance_2019
For the hundred years of the Bauhaus a series of events were organized around the entire campus of the University. In the specific case of this performance, a collective participation was made with students from different origins outside of Germany.
Salsa’s Territory was part of the exhibition Bauhaus 100 - Republic of the Spirits, within the project "Here, Now".
Immigration being its main theme, a series of participatory actions and performances were thought to involve the audience. Within this context, the performance presented here involves the body of a migrant as a space and political territory seen from the Latin American perspective of miscegenation and the loss of identity, in a culture alien to its own and as physical transgression is the last frontier to break in the access to the other.
